FIREFIGHTER MARK REED HONORED

Mark Reed ’89 will be recognized as Honorary Captain of all of Timon’s athletic teams throughout the 2007 - 2008 academic year at a special recognition at halftime during Timon’s Homecoming Football Game against Nichols on Friday September 21, 2007 at Tifft Field, at 5:00.  Ceremony should be at 5:45-6:00pm

Firefighter Reed, a 1989 Timon graduate, was critically injured in a chimney collapse while battling an arson fire in a vacant house on June 10, 2007. The tragedy left Mark hospitalized for almost two months and resulted in the loss of one of his legs. There was an outpouring of prayers and support from not only the firefighting community but all of Western New York.

Thomas J. Sullivan, Timon’s Principal & CEO, was quick to point out “We are very proud of Mark and all of our alumni who have dedicated their lives to the service of our community. Mark’s courage and perseverance is a true testament to his faith and the love and faith of his family and friends.”
